How to Think Abstractly to Improve Your Mind

The power of the mind has been explored by millions. Yet, many don’t really push the boundaries. After millions of years of evolution, the brain is the most complex machine known to man.

If you want to improve your thinking, abstract thinking is the way to go. Abstract thinking is an advanced stage of cognitive thinking with conceptualizing ideas that are not concrete nor present. Basically, you are turning something non-concrete to grasp (a theory) into a more concrete solid form (a proven theory).

Do these things and they will help you with abstract thinking on a daily basis.

  • Use Writing Prompts to Create Thoughts

Get a book on writing prompts, or on any website that has these. Use them to create new narratives on a daily basis. Force yourself to write short stories, long tales, and just about anything that you’d like.

Your goal is to push the elements of your creativity. This creativity is going to pull your imagination and in time, you’re going to be able to control the abstract and fall into a world of kaleidoscope thinking. Creativity unlocks elements of your brain that you will no doubt find amazing, but getting there is a matter of writing, and creating new thoughts daily.

Write daily, and create narrative, it will pay off in due time.

  • Practice Meditation or Other Deep Breathing Exercises

One of the best things that you can do to tap into your abstract mind is meditation. Meditation and other deep breathing exercise can help you a great deal due to the meditative state involved

Work with these on a daily basis and your brain will learn to deal with how you breathe in relation to control your abstract thinking ability at will.  breathing in a new way. When you have more control, you become more creative.

  • Do Nothing for 15 Minutes

Find a dark quiet place where you can concentrate on the stillness, darkness, and the isolation for at least 15 minutes.

This is going to help your brain not only decompress, but it will help you change how your senses focus.

Your goal here is to focus on the abstract, and it will start to pull on your mind. 15 minutes is all you need to unlock potential within your mind’s eye.
